Active trips involving hiking over steep terrain with elevation 2,500 ft.
gain and/or 7-9 mile hike. |

Hiking over demanding and more rugged terrain such as 3,000 - 4,000 ft elevation gain and/or 10-13 mile hike.

| Very Strenuous: |
Hiking and backpacking over steep, rugged terrain at high
elevations or with substantial altitude gains or losses. Hikes with elevation gain of 5,000 - 10,000 ft. and/or 14-30 miles.

| Extreme: |
Hiking in rugged terrain at high altitudes in extremely difficult conditions. The day-hikes are typically 30+ miles and/or elevation gain exceeding 10,000 feet. Designated for advanced extreme hikers in top physical condition.
