Gorgonio Summit Campout -- August 14-15, 2010

Spend the night at the tallest peak in Southern California.  Normally, when we hike to peaks, we have a limited time to visit before we have to descend.  On this trip, we are camping at the summit, so we will get to see the vast vistas in all the changing light until dusk and then wake up and see the sun rise.   We will be approaching San Gorgonio from the north side at South Fork trailhead and end at the Aspen Groves on the the other side of Grinnel Mountain

Baldy and Beyond -- August 21, 2010

Nestled in the beautiful San Gabriel mountains of the Angeles National Forest, this day hike climbs alongside San Antonio Falls to LA's highest point of 10,064 feet.  This year we will be offering an extension to the traditional Baldy hike.  We will be heading North beyond Baldy to a trail that traverses both Pine and Dawson Peaks.   This is a very steep and grueling hike.  Not only is the elevation gain intense but this is not a a simple up and down hike.  Rather it is up and down and up, then down and up and down.   However the endorphins and the views make it worth it.
